Polytechnic students life at the Požega Red
Cross Society and thus perform a service to the society by helping this
association in its various activities. Humanitarian
work is also demonstrated through the
"Walking towards Christmas” activity within the framework of the "Čaj za malog
zmaja” (Tea for Little Dragon) project. The project is designed to involve as
many employees, students of the Polytechnic and residents of Požega who drink
tea, donate, walk and release sky lanterns to help poor children of the county.
The main organiser of the project is the Polytechnic in cooperation with the
Public Health Institute of the Požega-Slavonia County, "Zdravi život” (Healthy
Living) Association, Student Centre of the Polytechnic, Požega Tourist Board
and others under patronage of the City of Požega. For three years in a row, a
humanitarian trivia quiz is held at the Polytechnic through efforts of the
Sports Association of the Polytechnic students, the Student Council and the
Student Centre. In agreement with the Social Welfare Centre, voluntary
charitable contributions are collected for one poor family in the area of this
county which is in dire need of assistance. Also, the Sports Association of the
Polytechnic students organises, for four years in a row, in cooperation with
the Public Health Institute of the Požega-Slavonia County, the "Walking to
Health” project within the framework of the national "Healthy Living” programme
which involves organisation of various charitable activities, leisure
activities etc.
